MSF: Dark Dimension IV Walkthrough & Live Blog – Mission #6 - Gaming-Fans.com (2024)

Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom is the ultimate endgame content in Marvel Strike Force in 2021, and I begin fighting Mission #6 after completing the 5th mission in just two attacks. While I admit that this team (below) may not be an ideal team makeup for this game mode, I am going to live blog my daily attempts as I look to defeat the Dark Dimension and and unlock Doctor Doom.

My Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom eligible characters:

  • Namor –161,533 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 7 Red Stars – Iso-8 Striker, Level 4
  • Yellow Jacket –131,388 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 6 Stars, 6 Red Stars – Iso-8 Striker, Level 4
  • Ghost – 124,822 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 7-7-7-5 – 6 Stars, 5 Red Stars – Iso-8 Skirmisher, Level 5
  • Stature –107,366 power, Level 80, Gear 15, Ability Levels 6-7-7-5 – 7 Stars, 4 Red Stars – Iso-8 Healer, Level 5

Notes: I have Yellow Jacket as an Iso Striker over the Raider class I suggest in the best Iso-8 for Yellow Jacket article, and while I did the same for Namor as well, he is back to his standard Raider class for this battle. Thanos is Gear 14 +5, so he will likely be the next eligible character on my roster and both Wasp and Ant-Man are major focuses needed 3 pieces of gear each.

Dark Dimension IV: Embrace Your Doom – Mission 6

04.04.21 – I begin Mission #6 after just two attacks fighting Mission #5 with a team checking in at527k as I face a Black Bolt boss on a board with 44 enemies and 66.7m health. I pass up the chance to heal Namor, who will start in red health, and decided to save my power cores. Black Bolt and Cable have the super soldier serum on this mission, and I start with a Ghost ultimate following a special from YJ to get BB down to about 60% health. The enemies kill Namor and Stature is forced to taunt, saving Ghost, but Captain America also taunts to complicate things. I survive a round of enemy attacks, lay a couple of hits on BB to get him to yellow health, but the next round of attacks kills YJ and Stature. Ghost can evade like crazy, but not all by herself, as I land a Ghost ultimate to bring others to yellow health but the battle ends after several enemy attacks and Ghost counters.

04.05.21 – Back for my second attack, I now have Stature at 7-stars and “maxed out” at 120,591 power now as my foursome now checks in at 537k.I have all of the 46 enemies remaining with a total of 61.1m health, and 8 enemies are on-screen. I get stuck early behind a Captain America taunt, but ultimates from Stature, Yellow Jacket and Namor do some nice damage, then the added ability energy from Stature’s ultimate allows Ghost to pull off an ultimate as well, leaving 3 enemies in red health, 4 in yellow and 1 in green. Stature taunts and YJ’s basic is enough to kill off Black Bolt and I am starting to make real progress. After taking a round of hits Namor is barely hanging on and YJ uses his special to kill a Cable. Namor takes a turn then gets killed, but Ghost counters and attack and kills the attacker as we’re down to 43. Another Stature ultimate gives Ghost the ability energy needed for her ultimate which adds another kill, then YJ’s ultimate kills Crystal, followed by Captain America on the follow-up attack. I place basics on the final two until they die and at 38 enemies left a new round of 8 enemies appears. In this wave of enemies, Coulson, Spider-Man (Miles) and Jessica Jones are said to be the three super soldiers here in what will be an undoubtedly tough battle, but only Coulson and SMM are on-screen which makes me happy. There is also a Spider-Man (Symbiote) on-screen, so I struggle to know where to start. I end up deciding to go after Coulson, but I get one hit in, then have to kill off a SHIELD minion, then take a ton of hits and now I am stuck behind a SHIELD Security taunt. I lose Stature on the next turn and Ghost and YJ do not last much longer as the battle is over with 38 enemies left and 55m health.

04.06.21 – Hoping to continue what I feel like is a successful start on this mission, my foursome is checks in again at 537k power. I try this battle 5 times and unfortunately this match-up is terrible for me as my best result comes from hitting Coulson and landing a single Ghost ultimate and a bunch of counter attacks. In the end I get Coulson to red, do damage to the rest and leave all 38 remaining enemies while dropping their health to 52.3m.

04.07.21 – Today’s goal is to kill an enemy (or multiple) and make more notable progress as my team comes in the same as yesterday. With Coulson in red health he will be the main target for my attacks, but Fury calls his SHIELD minions to start and I have to take out the Operative to ensure Coulson does not gain stealth and a Heal Over Time to hurt my progress, but then the real SHIELD Security taunts. I try restarting a few times and this start is, like Thanos, inevitable, and it is clear that the attacks of Spider-Man (Symbiote), Spider-Man (Miles) and Spider-Man are going to make this battle one of those miserable battles that makes you wonder why you even bother…

I start over once more and try a different strategy – not hitting the SHIELD Operative minion and instead hitting Coulson with Ghost’s special. It is followed by Yellow Jacket’s basic, which hits 3 times thanks to the Iso-8 bonus attack, and Coulson is dead. A MUCH better start… All of the bad guys get buffed by Fury after this and Ghost has an ultimate up that I do not feel like I can wait to use, but I lose Namor in the ensuing round of enemy attacks. I use a basic from Ghost and a special from YJ to get Fury to red health and their SMS kills my team off to end the day’s run. 37 enemies and 50.9m health remain heading into Thursday’s battle.

04.08.21 – Back again for another crack at it and nothing has changed on my roster of available characters. The opening enemy moves are not kind to me so I restart until I have all four alive to proceed. Stature taunts and Ghost sets up YJ killing Nick Fury, but then I have to dance around taunts for SHIELD Security and Rhino for a bit. The taunts finally wear off and while I lose Namor, I am able to land a YJ special to drain health and then a Ghost ultimate, both targeting Spider-Man (Miles) as his Disrupted debuff is doing what it is called – disrupting my fight. I continue to try to work around SS and finally just kill him off instead as 35 enemies remain. YJ is stunned to make things difficult, but Stature either taunts or grants Ability Energy to the team to help me utilize Ghost better, and I keep trying to get to SMM. Rhino has taunt up when YJ takes his ultimate turn, and while he gets the kills and the follow-up shot from the ultimate, he is killed moments later. Now with just SMM, SMS and the original Spidey left, I try to keep hitting SMM and die doing so. Tomorrow will see me look to reduce the 47m health remaining.

04.09.21 – After being spoiled by my second run through the Dark Dimension III and the early boards this time around, this mission is MUCH more like previous Dark Dimension battles that take weeks, or longer, to complete. However I am chipping away, and I added a Red Star upgrade to Ghost last night to raise her power by 8k, thus my foursome is now 545k power.

33 enemies remain with the 3 on-screen being Spider-Man (Miles), Spider-Man (Symbiote) and Spider-Man. SMM is in stealth and I have a Ghost ultimate and YJ special right away, so I use both on SMS and get him down to 65% health, them SMM, who is in low red health, comes out of stealth. Ghost and YJ finish him off and we’re all in on removing SMS. A Stature ultimate grants the ability energy needed to get past his self-healing and I finish him off despite taking some serious damage. Spider-Man dodges a ton and it takes six rounds of attacks to kill him, but I manage to do so with all of my four characters alive as 8 of the final 30 enemies appear, with the super soldiers being Quake and Negasonic. I start targeting the Nick Fury in the back and kill off the Operative minion with YJ’s ultimate, but the enemies do real damage on their turn killing Stature and Namor. I realize that a new Spider-Man (Miles) is here, a terribly annoying character in this game mode, and since he lost a good bit of health from YJ’s ultimate earlier, I set him up with Ghost and see YJ’s special this time getting him to red health. Deadpool kills Ghost, but YJ gets a final attack and kills SMM just before they finish me off with 29 enemies and 39.9m health left.

Second Attack – I decide to use my Dark Energy (and Power Cores) and fight again to keep this one moving along and hopefully take out Nick Fury today as well. Stature passes Ability Energy and allows a Ghost ultimate and YJ special and one of the taunting Rhinos is in the red while 4 others are in the yellow from the hits. I spread the Vulnerable Iso-8 debuff with Ghost and take advantage as YJ kills the weaker Rhino and then target Fury again, getting him to red health. Quake’s ultimate is getting really annoying now and I lose Namor, but the Pym Tech characters are holding up nicely. Another Stature ultimate sets up a Ghost ultimate and kills Fury, and YJ finishes Quake as 3 reinforcements arrive in Coulson, another Deadpool and another Cable. I kill the existing Deadpool, but he revives, and I am stuck on 26 enemies momentarily. YJ kills the weaker Cable, then Ghost counters the weaker Deadpool and finishes him, and I focus in on Negasonic. A Ghost ultimate kills the last Rhino and weakens Negasonic, then YJ is able to finish her as the 3 newcomers remain on screen as 22 total enemies are left. Coulson is dead a few turns later, then Deadpool and then finally Cable as 19 enemies remain and 8 newbs arrive. Deadpool and Spider-Man are the super soldiers here, and I start in on Spider-Man and his body Miles, but Spidey dodges YJ’s special. Ghost and YJ ultimates weaken the enemies a bit, but the next few rounds are just the trading of attacks as Captain American and the SHIELD Security taunt to complicate things. YJ gets low on health but lands a special on SMM to heal back up, and Stature taunts, and we continue to cycle. Another Ghost ultimate drops SMM and Cap into red health, and a YJ ultimate kills both and drops 3 others to red health. However, a Deadpool ultimate kills Ghost as I have blown a tire. YJ finishes Coulson to bring the enemy tally to 16 as 3 new reinforcements arrive in Cable, SMS and Nick Fury. Stature finishes SHIELD Security and while YJ gets a basic in, they kill him off and finish the battle. 16 enemies and 19.2m health remain heading into the weekend.

04.10.21 – Back again at 545k, I have 15 enemies and 19.2m health to get through. With 7 enemies on-screen, Nick Fury heals and adds Defense up to the group to make things challenging to start. I choose to go right after Spider-Man, one of the two super soldiers on-screen, and kill him rather quickly with a Namor ultimate. A YJ ultimate kills Quake and does big damage, then I lose Namor. A YJ special finishes Nagasonic and 12 enemies remain. Deadpool is in the yellow and is also the last super soldier on the board, so I focus on him and kill him with a Ghost ultimate. The final three on-screen are Fursy, Cable and Spider-Man (Symbiote) so I look to pick them off one by one. Fury is the first to go, then Cable, and Stature’s ultimate and a lot of basics help me reset my cooldowns. I finally kill SMS and the final 8 appear, with Negasonic as the super soldier and a solid team behind her. I start my attacks with big hits on Black Bolt and get him to 50% health quickly. Now it is survive each wave of hits and try to avoid Disrupted and Heal Block. Using Stature’s taunt can be key in this process, and I use it well here to help YJ avoid a close one. I kill BB and then look to remove Spider-Man (Miles) as his Disrupted debuffs are quite a pain, but Stature’s ultimate that replenishes Ability Energy to Pym Tech allies is so incredibly valuable that it is hard to put into words. A YJ ultimate kills SMM and Deadpoll on the right side for my screen as just 5 enemies remain, but the debuffs are piling up on Stature and YJ. A stature ultimate finished Cable, then Ghost’s ultimate eliminates SHIELD Security and 3 enemies remain. No taunt for Stature due to the Disrupted debuff, so I cycle through turns until her taunt is an option. I work the final SMM down and kill him with a YJ special and 2 enemies, SMS and Negasonic, remain. After several rounds of hits I finally finish SMS with a Stature ultimate, as Negasonic is all that is left. I kill her off and advance to Mission #7 with a prize of 300k Gold, 200 T-4 Ability Materials and 5k Elite 5 Credits.
