To start this mission, you first need to reach Act 3, after which you will get access to the village of Rivington. You should go to Open Hand Temple to get the quest. By talking to Valeria, you will learn that the local priest Lorgan has been murdered and his novice named Brilgor is suspected of it. This is the conclusion of the local investigator Valeria, but you will need to find more clues to solve this murder.
Search for Clues
The next step to solve the Open Hand Temple Murders in Baldur’s Gate 3 is to search for clues. In general, there are several clues that will lead you to the right path and the main ones are quite simple, such as talking to the corpses. That’s right, using the right spell or Amulet of Lost Voices, you can talk to Lorgan, as well as Brilgor, who turns out to be dead as well. So, to talk to them, you first need to find them, and that’s what we’ll help you with:
- The corpse of the priest Lorgan is located in the Open Hand Temple, all you need to do is go to the following coordinates: X:-55, Y:-20.
- The corpse of his novice Brilgor was already buried. You can go to the cemetery behind the temple to dig up his coffin and talk to him.

Exploring the Tunnels Underneath the Temple

To get to the tunnels underneath the temple, you’ll need to go to the kitchen, where you can find a hatch. Use it to get to the underground altar room. Here you will need to interact with two buttons to open a hidden door. To do this, you will need to complete a Perception check for each of the buttons. Explore the new location and kill the shapeshifters to find two main clues that will help you solve the murder, namely:
- Stillmaker – this rare dagger is the murder weapon.
- The key with a flower motif.

Where To Use Strange Flower Key in Baldur’s Gate 3
You can use the newly found Strange Flower Key with the number 10 to get to the secret room in Fraygo’s Flophouse. To get there, you will first need to pass through the South Span Checkpoint. When you pass through the checkpoint, head to Fraygo’s Flophouse, which is located at the following coordinates: X:-20, Y:76.
Once you’re at Fraygo’s Flophouse, use the lockpick to open one of the doors, then climb the ladder to get to the room on the second floor. Here you’ll notice a Wardrobe, use the Flower Key to open it and enter a secret room where you’ll find evidence, including a list of targets. This information will be enough to complete the quest, and to do so you will need to go to Sharess’ Caress Tavern, which is located across the street from Fraygo’s Flophouse.
