How to get investigate the murders in BG3? ›

However, both Alexander and Franc also provide alternate ways to start "Investigate the Murders." The same Bloodstained Parchment appears in both their homes, and any copy of it will begin the quest. Players can also get a description of the killer from a rat in Alexander's house if a party member can speak to animals.

By speaking with the dead, we learned that a dwarf clad in red killed both Father Lorgan and Brilgor. We need hard proof to exonerate Brilgor, however, and should check out the murder scene.

Brilgor's body is buried behind the temple; opening his casket and removing his body will allow the party to Speak with Dead to his corpse. He will answer a number of questions about his death, revealing that he and Lorgan were murdered in the tunnels beneath the temple by a dwarf in "red clothes".

You can do this by using the “speak with the dead” ability and then interacting with Father Logan's corpse. After a brief exchange of dialogues, Father Logan will reveal to you that Brilgor was not the one who killed him, but rather it was a “dwarf dressed in red.”

Generally speaking, you shouldn't force Lae'zel to obey Vlaakith. If she goes against Vlaakith, Lae'zel leaves for the Astral Plane at the end of the game and leads a rebellion to save her people. If she sides with Vlaakith, Withers implies that she meets a much darker fate during the epilogue party.

To the Flophouse

You'll pass through it into a secret room, where you can investigate a Bloodstained Parchment on the desk. This reveals the murderer's plans, which you can now take to Investigator Valeria.

Return to Valeria and give her the evidence found in the journal to complete the quest as you solve Logan's murder once and for all. This will prove Brilgor's innocence and allow your party to track down other instances of the Bhaalist Cult's plot.

Interacting with the dirt mound will allow the player to dig out the casket of Brilgor, and attacking it with a character will reveal Brilgor's dead body. Once again, players should use their death-speaking companion to gather some more details from Brilgor, the supposed "killer."

He reveals that a dwarf in red clothing killed him, and that he was hiding Brilgor from the Flaming Fists when he died - all but confirming that Brilgor was innocent.
